Terms of Service
In force from 6 November 2026.
These terms are the agreement between you and [Your full name] ("we", "us"), who makes and runs Crit Happens. They apply to the game, its servers, this website and your account. By creating an account you accept them, together with the Rules of Conduct. How we handle your personal data is explained in the Privacy Notice.
1. Who can play
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- An account is for one person. Don't share it, sell it or give it away.
- Give a working email address that you control. We use it for your account only.
2. Your account
- Keep your password secret and don't use it anywhere else. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
- If you think someone else got into your account, change your password and tell us.
- We may refuse or change account and character names that break the Rules of Conduct (for example offensive names, or names that pretend to be someone else).
3. An early test version
Crit Happens is free and still being built. You're playing a test version ("alpha"), so:
- Things will change, break, or be taken out. Servers may be offline, sometimes without warning.
- Progress may be reset (characters, items, gold, the world), for example before a new test phase. We'll announce resets in advance when we can.
- We don't promise the game will keep running, or that it works on every computer.
4. Your licence to play
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to download, install and play Crit Happens for your own, non-commercial use. You may not:
- copy, sell, rent out or redistribute the game or its parts (art, music, code);
- decompile, reverse engineer or modify the game or its network traffic, except where the law expressly allows it;
- use cheats, bots, macros or other automation, or exploit bugs (please report them instead);
- attack, overload or try to get into our servers or other players' accounts.
The game, its world, art, music and code belong to us or to the people we licensed them from.
5. Items, gold and other things in the game
Characters, items, gold and everything else in the game are part of the game, not property you own. They have no value in real money and can't be exchanged for it. Selling or buying them, or accounts, for real money is not allowed. We may change, rebalance or remove them. Crit Happens doesn't sell anything: there are no purchases in the game.
6. What you write in the game
You are responsible for what you write: character names, chat, mail and guild messages. You allow us to store, show and transmit it as needed to run the game. We may remove anything that breaks these terms or the Rules of Conduct.
7. The AI game master and AI-made content
Many of the game's 3D models and pictures were made with the help of AI tools. An AI "game master" suggests events in the world (raids, festivals, errands). A human game master approves each event before it starts. AI-made content can be surprising or contain mistakes; tell us if something is wrong or inappropriate.
8. When rules are broken
If you break these terms or the Rules of Conduct, we may warn you, mute you, remove content, suspend your account or delete it, depending on how serious it is. In serious cases (cheating, attacks on the servers, threats) we may act at once. If you think we got it wrong, write to us and we'll look again.
9. Ending
You can delete your account at any time on your account page. We may end the test or shut down the game; we'll announce this on this website in advance when we can.
10. Our responsibility
We provide Crit Happens free of charge and as it is. As far as Hungarian law allows, we are not liable for lost progress, items or characters, for interruptions, or for indirect damage. Nothing in these terms limits our liability where the law doesn't allow it to be limited, in particular for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, or for harm to life, physical integrity or health. Your rights as a consumer under the law of the country you live in are not affected.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when the game changes. We'll announce changes on this website. For important changes we'll ask you to accept the new terms the next time you sign in; if you don't agree, you can delete your account.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Hungarian law. If you live in another EU country, the mandatory consumer protection rules of that country still apply to you. Please write to us first if there's a problem: most things can be sorted out quickly.
